What types of programs are available for new construction financing? When building a new home there are two main alternatives for financing. The first alternative is a single-close construction loan, which is treated primarily as a purchase transaction. The second alternative is a two-close construction loan, which is treated much like a refinance. |

What other factors are taken into consideration for new construction financing? In addition to the amount of cash you have available, we also have to address: A) your current housing circumstances, B) whether you own land or do we need to roll the cost of purchasing that into the financing, C) are you doing any work yourself, and D) are you acting as your own general contractor. |
